Staying High Vibe in Uncertain Times

No matter where you fall in the political spectrum, the first couple of weeks in our new Administration have been a non-stop avalanche of news and changes, with many of us worrying for our future. If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, you’re not alone.

In the latest episode of The High Vibe Table Talks Podcast, our host Merchon Hargrave opens up about how she’s been feeling these past couple of weeks. She offers encouragement and a few ways to reframe your narrative to stay motivated, keep creativity flowing, and build emotional resilience - even when life is life-ing, as she puts it.

Key Takeaways

  • Give yourself grace—life is unpredictable, and business isn’t always smooth sailing.

  • Creativity flows when you allow space for it, not when you force it.

  • Balance staying informed with protecting your mental health.

  • The world needs your light, now more than ever.

Find Your Creative Spark 🎨

Running a business is hard enough, but when the world feels chaotic, it’s easy to fall into a cycle of self-doubt and procrastination.  If your to-do list is collecting dust, it’s okay. Recognizing where you are mentally and giving yourself grace is key to pushing through.

“If you run into a stumbling block with your business, that doesn't mean that's not the journey for you or you're not enough for that journey.”

Creativity doesn’t always show up on demand—especially when stress is high. Instead of forcing your plans to fit, shift gears: journal, brainstorm, or take a break. Creativity often returns when you stop chasing it.

🧠Prioritize Your Mental Health

With world events shifting rapidly, staying informed without spiraling into anxiety can feel impossible. Set boundaries with news intake, stay grounded in your values, and take care of your emotional well-being.

"There is never a time where it matters more to be high vibe than when things feel hard." - Merchon, host of High Vibe Table Talks

Merchon reflects on the early days of the Covid pandemic, when she felt like she needed to take in all the information becoming available, and found that it overwhelmed her. She paused and understood that she needed to focus on what she could control rather than the many things she couldn’t.

"Anxiety is not you. It is something that you are feeling in that moment."

Managing ADHD while running a business requires intentionality. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and pivoting is healthy. Here's what you can do:

prioritize rest and reflection when needed but balance it with actionable steps towards personal and professional goals.

Acknowledging personal growth as incremental invites self-compassion into the narrative, offering a compassionate counterpoint to the perfectionism that often plagues entrepreneurs.

“Being high vibe doesn't mean that I'm going to be high vibe 100% of the time. We are human beings living in a very fractured and difficult world, and to assume that you will be like that all the time is setting yourself up for failure. But how can you do 1% better?”

⚡ Stay Motivated!

It’s easy to wonder, "Does this work even matter when bigger issues loom?"

The answer is YES! The world needs light, creativity, and leadership—especially in times of uncertainty.

If you’re feeling drained, check in with yourself: are you resting or avoiding? Both are valid, but knowing the difference can help you get back to making an impact.

Remember, big dreams + small steps = transformation. 💫
